This is about as close as I get to wearing a suit these days. I quite like this jacket - if I have to wear a jacket, I want it to be pale pink and shiny! It reminds me a bit of the coloured suit jackets newsreaders wear. I always wonder where they get their suits from, because I hardly ever see any like that in stores.
I don't have much to say about today's shoes and outfit. These shoes are from a shop called L&J, I believe. I only went there this one time and bought 2 pairs of shoes. The girl working in the store recognised that the shoes I was wearing were by Vivienne Westwood, which doesn't happen to me often.
The colours in these photos didn't turn out too accurately this time. Anyway, I'm hoping that by the end of the shoe challenge, I'm going to be taking much better photos, and not hating photos of myself quite so much. I think I have a long way to go before I get there, though...
I don't like having to iron clothes, and I try to avoid it at all costs, but sometimes it just can't be avoided. After sitting down and having my breakfast this morning, my skirt was just as creased as before I ironed it, but at least I tried! Today's outfit was not particularly interesting, but I guess it felt more like a 'pastel' day today. I usually would have worn cream shoes with this, but I'm trying to be a bit more adventurous for the shoe challenge. 
Today's shoes are from Nina. I bought them online, as I do with about 90% of my shoes these days, but it doesn't always work out as planned. I bought them because I was looking for some baby blue shoes, but they actually turned out to be duck-egg blue. It might not seem like a huge difference, but I bought them specifically to match a baby blue cardigan, which, of course, they don't match. So now I don't wear these shoes or my cardigan very often.
I'll probably be in court for the next few days, so there may not be any more pretty outfits this week, but I'll see what I can come up with!
As you've probably noticed, I love clothes and shoes, but I cannot do hair or make-up at all. So I generally don't bother (hair is either 'up' or 'down' - there are no other styles. And make-up consists of mascara, foundation and lip gloss). I also don't particularly care for bags, even though a lot of girls who like shoes tend to like bags as well. 
This was the first time I'd worn this dress. I bought it a couple of weeks ago, but I had been debating about whether it was something I could wear to work. When I bought it, the sales assistant said she wanted to buy it too, to wear to a wedding. While I agree that it would be a nice dress to wear to a wedding, I don't really have any weddings to go to in the near future. I was having a discussion today with another sales assistant about dressing up. I like wearing pretty skirts and dresses, and I have to go to work 5 days a week, so I figure that I might as well wear things I like on those days. I know a lot of people who think that work isn't worth dressing up for, but if I didn't dress up for work every day, I'd have few occasions when I could!
These are some shoes I've had for a while, and they're from Diana Ferrari (which I think is an Australian brand). I don't wear them much as they're the kind of shoes that feel like they're cutting into your feet as soon as you put them on! But I do like the colour.
I like designer shoes as much as anyone, but if I find cheap shoes I like, I'm happy to buy and wear them too. The only thing I don't really like about a lot of cheap shoes (aside from the quality, but I don't really expect great quality from a pair of shoes that costs me $15), especially shoes from a number of Australian brands, is that the designs are basically copied from designer shoes. I just can't shop for shoes locally anymore, because I keep seeing Prada/Miu Miu-esque double bows, and while I think designer 'inspired' shoes are fine, a lot of shoe brands seem to be taking it too far.
I love this style of dress - you'll probably see me in it a lot. Anyway, today's shoes are from Forever 21. They're simple but pretty. I should mention that I don't always dress up every day, but I'm not sure if anyone would believe me! Usually I just wear jeans and a T-shirt on weekends - I did yesterday, but I'm trying not to include boring outfits like that my shoe challenge photos. I do have a lot of casual dresses, and the shoe challenge is making me think about wearing clothes I don't wear often too.
I actually have a lot of flats in my shoe collection. I'm starting to feel like my shoe collection doesn't really correspond with my current tastes in shoes. I basically wear flats to and from work and on the weekends, but I have so many fancy, colourful pairs, and they're just not getting worn. I guess that is the aim of the shoe challenge, but as much as I hate to throw anything out, I'll probably end up with a few pairs that I just don't need anymore.
I went window-shopping at lunch time today, and a sales assistant in one of the shops commented on my outfit, and asked if I was going somewhere special. I told her that I was just at work, and she was really surprised, and started asking me about where I worked. I get this a lot, and people are always surprised to hear that I'm a lawyer. Even though I work as a lawyer, I don't actually work for a law firm as such, and my workplace is much more flexible when it comes to things like this. Nobody there wears suits every day, and a lot of my colleagues even wear jeans for casual Friday (although I don't, as I like to dress up. And I usually end up in court on Fridays, too). I do dress more conservatively when I have to go to meetings, or to court. (Usually I'm putting on my jacket in the elevator on the way to court, while my boss is putting on his tie). 
These are my favourite shoes. Most of the shoes I like best are heels, but even though these ones are flat, I think they are perfect. They're more plastic shoes by Melissa, and they're the J.Maskrey Night Sky Edition, covered in Swarovski crystals. I always get a lot of comments on these, and people often say that they're like Cinderalla shoes, or Dorothy shoes. 
I think they add an element of fantasy to everyday outfits, and that's one of the reasons why I love them :)
I haven't been feeling the best this week, so I thought that wearing some blue plastic shoes might cheer me up! I know plastic shoes aren't for everyone, and I have to say, I felt a bit like a comic book character wearing these today, but I love Melissa shoes. The main reason is that they are so comfortable! Not the heels so much, but my (several pairs of) Melissa flats are the most comfortable shoes I own.
Sometimes it's hard to know what to wear with crazy plastic shoes, so I stuck with a fairly simple outfit today. I have to admit that I took the cardigan off after taking these photos and didn't put it on again all day, as it was far too hot. I can't wait until it's cardigan weather, as my favourite outfit is a skirt/top/cardi combo. This one is from Hollister. Surprisingly, Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister have really nice cardigans... And now that I've just gone and looked at their websites, I think I'm going to have to buy a few more!
I thought it was going to rain today, and plastic shoes are great in the rain, but it ended up being perfectly sunny. I hope I get a chance to wear some of my fabric shoes soon.
Today was the first day of Autumn, although you wouldn't know it, as it was 35 degrees Celsius (that's 95F - HOT!). This seemed like an appropriately Autumnal outfit:
Maybe someday I'll get used to being in photos, but for the moment I still feel really awkward and have no idea how to pose! I think I'm always going to prefer being the photographer rather than the subject of the photo. 
These lovely leafy shoes are from Poetic Licence. They're uncomfortable, but they're so cute, and they're the kind of shoes that people really notice.
