#43 - Shopaholic

I was determined not to buy any clothes last week. I told myself that I wouldn't buy anything until I got paid next week. It was going okay, until somehow I ended up going to my favourite store on Friday and spending $600. I was so annoyed with myself, and I realised that when it comes to shopping, I have no self control. I am a shopaholic. So I've put away my credit cards, and I am going to stop shopping until June. I've done a 'no shopping month' before, but this is more like a no shopping month and a half, which seems like a very long time! It's not going to be easy, but I still have so many clothes I haven't even worn yet.Anyway, my outfit today seemed very matchy, which I was quite pleased about! I also wanted to mention (again) that Hollister and Abercrombie have some great cardigans, surprisingly enough. I bought this skirt recently from Alannah Hill, and I love how sparkly it is. Here are some close-up photos of the details:
I love Pucci. That probably doesn't surprise anyone, as I am a fan of all things bright and colourful. They have the most amazing prints, and these particular shoes have sparkly bows on the front which make them extra cute!

  1. I found your blog through the shoe challenge and am now following. I love your style, and all your pretty dresses.

BTW I once had to enforce a no-spend month by freezing my credit cards in a block of ice in the freezer... it meant buying anything involved having to defrost the cards so it was more hassle than it was worth.

  2. Thanks Louise! I'll follow you too, if you don't mind :)

I wanted to try freezing my credit cards, but I thought that might damage them and I'd never be able to use them again! I ended up giving them to my mother to keep for me. She thinks that credit cards are evil, so I'm not sure if I'll be getting them back!

  3. We all have to do that from time to time. You know, you will feel so good when you have completed your goal. :) Good luck to you!

  4. Good luck for your "saving challenge"! I don't have a credit card and don't really want one for that reason. I find it best to pay cash, then you have to see your money go with your own eyes - it definitely makes you stop and think before purchasing anything! Recently I've done a lot of shopping online, and I really notice the difference. If I could, I'd rather buy everything in a real shop, but the selection here is unfortunately really limited...
Your shoes are totally gorgeous by the way! I also love Pucci a lot :)

  5. Good luck girl. I went on a thrifting month where I could only shop resale and thrift shops and only pants and tops. Yeah that didn't work. I love shopping way to much. I'm on a current shopping hiatus again. Until my one year anniversary. Good luck in yours.
