#23 - Coral & copying

I got an email from Nordstrom a couple of weeks ago about cardigans (most of the email I get is from clothes/shoe stores, which is a bit depressing!), and I really loved the outfit in this picture:
So I went to their website and tried to buy the whole outfit, however it didn't quite work out as planned. I couldn't get the belt in my size (and I'm not too sure about the whole wearing-belts-over-cardigans look anyway), I found the cardigan a bit plain for my liking, and the skirt also came in a pink/coral version (and if there's a choice between beige & pink, I'm going to choose pink every time!). So in the end, I bought the blouse and the coral version of the skirt, so this was my outfit today:
Both the skirt and top are slightly too big for me (that is the curse of being small! It's frustrating when people say "You're thin; you can wear anything," because it's not true!), but I quite like this outfit. It felt professional yet pretty, and coral is my favourite colour.
I wore my new Ted Baker shoes today, and aren't they the best things ever? I got a lot of comments on them, even from people who usually have no interest in shoes. I think they're going to be some of my new favourites!

  1. The shoes are just wonderful. I agree that I'm in doubt about belts over cardigans...that flowered belt is nice though. If belts are too big for me I usually poke a new hole although I can see why you wouldn't want to order one knowing you'd have to do that.

  2. Those shoes are great, and I like your outfit even more than the one in the picture. I've also gotten used to the skinny belt over a cardigan too. I'm wearing that today myself.

  3. Molly, I would've ordered the bigger size, but I think they only had huge sizes like XL or something, and I'm usually an XS, so I wasn't sure how well it'd work! I did end up ordering the belt in a pink/red colour though, and it's very cute.

Thank you, Karen! I had a look at your photo, and it does look good. One of my favourite stores uses the belt over cardigan look a lot in their ad campaigns, but as much as I like the look on other people, it always takes me a while to get used to new looks like this. I feel like I'm still getting used to high-waisted skirts, and that trend has been around for years now!
